Active Shooter Training/Resources-Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church
There is no way that we can be prepared for everything that "could" happen. We can discuss and be ready for many things. In 2017 a total of 108 fatalities happened in places of worship, in the United States.
There is no "one" training or Plan that will work for every church/community. Here are some resources, others are available online, through your insurance agency and through your local law enforcement agencies.

Need help with VBS? Try MUMM!
I know it’s early. It’s been snowy and icy, and you may not be ready to think about summer and Vacation Bible School. However, it’s never too early to plan.
“But we don’t have kids!” you may say. You may not see them in church, but there are kids in your community, and they need you. And because of their energy, imagination and hope, we need them. So now is definitely the time to think about Vacation Bible School. And MUMMs can help.
Let us know if you’d like to hold a Vacation Bible School in your community. Because we have to plan and set our schedule, contact me via call or text at (712) 370-5068, or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org now to ensure a spot on our calendar. We’ll partner with you to plan a program that works for your community.
Or if you’d like to learn more about how we do VBS, catch us at one of our VBS Fairs:
2-4 p.m., Sun., March 4 at Atlantic First UMC
2-4 p.m., Sun., March 11 at Mount Pleasant First UMC
I’d also be happy to share the MUMMs story and let you know how you can support our ministry. There are many ways to get involved if you’d like to be part of it.
Blessings and Shalom,
